After growing up between the Portuguese exiles from Mozambique and Angola, my gastronomic affair with Portuguese cuisine was excited by the beginnings of Tosca in Hermannus in 2017, when we opened a small take-away.
Tosca brags a new home now!
We have dedicated recipes from serious Portuguese Mammas that I got while growing up between my friends. I often assisted their Mammas while they were cooking, asking for their recipes. Later I would make the dishes myself.
At Tosca we are self-acclaimed chefs and passionate about our food. I have replicated the tastes and flavours from my youth and introduced some new traditional dishes. Our focus is to make the very best possible authentic Portuguese flavours to create some ‘Old Faithful’ dishes of Portugal.
In keeping with the influence of Mozambique, we make ‘Piri-Piri’ which originates from there. We have the famous ‘Piri-Piri Chicken’ on our menu, and use the powerful capsicum family of flavours in several of our recipes and cuisine.info@toscahermanus
